Rotary Life Planning Programme is a territory-wide event that is co-organized by Rotary International District 3450, the Education Bureau and various secondary schools in Hong Kong. The event attracted 315 students from 12 local secondary schools to participate this year. Our S.4 to S.6 students attended the opening ceremony and listened to the inspirational sharing by Mr. Albert CHAU Kat-pui, who shared his valuable life-planning experience with all participants. Students were motivated and learned that challenges and opportunities are always there when we go through different life stages. After this powerful speech, students attended professional sharing sessions, where they learned about current popular occupations in Hong Kong, such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, E-sports, finance and social work.
In the afternoon sessions, mock interviews were conducted by professionals who took up the roles as mentors. Students learned how to write resumes, conduct self-introduction and prepare for possible questions in university or job interviews in authentic settings. Our students reflected that these were valuable learning opportunities as they met selfless mentors who shared their expertise and life experiences with them. They knew more about their own strengths and potentials and were more prepared to sit for upcoming interviews.
